Feeding Explorers

Build. Create. Connect.

A playful, sensory-rich group for children to explore food with confidence!

Led by an experienced Occupational Therapist, this unique program creates a safe, “Willy Wonka-style” environment where children can explore different textures, tastes, smells, and temperatures at their own pace. Through hands-on, messy, and multi-sensory activities, children develop oral motor skills, sensory regulation, confidence, and social interaction in a calm and structured setting.

Children will gain:

  • Confidence and comfort with different oral sensations and social mealtimes

  • Improved oral motor skills and sensory regulation related to feeding

  • A playful, safe environment to explore foods at their own pace

  • Greater understanding and confidence for caregivers and support staff to meet the child’s sensory needs

  • Are aged 7–16 years (three ranges: 7–10, 11–13, 14–16)

  • Have tactile sensitivity or sensory differences related to eating

  • Are oral motor seeking or exploring food textures with their mouth

  • Experience sensory aversions, picky eating, or strong food preferences

  • Benefit from a low-pressure, playful social environment around food

Before you register

If your child hasn’t visited Neuronaut before (or it’s been more than 3 months since their last session), we may need to arrange an initial consultation before starting. We’ll chat with you about this and any related fees.

Program spots

We process registrations as they come in, and spots are limited. Sending this form doesn’t guarantee a place. If we think another group or service might be a better fit for your child’s goals, we’ll discuss it with you.

Attendance

Our programs run as a complete block, so attending all sessions is important. Payment is required in advance for the full program, and is non-refundable (even if your child misses a session). If your child can’t attend, we’ll do our best to offer alternative supports, like goal updates or resources.

Group size

To make sure every child gets the support they need, groups are kept small (max. 5 children per group).

Family support

Each program includes a follow-up call with your child’s therapist and a summary report at the end.
